This is for those who haven't yet heard it
The following is from my cousin Robert J. Orr of San Diego. Please send all inquiries directly to him, not me. He says:
I've run across a deal here that has unusual opportunities and thought you might be interested. There are several unique qualities to the is venture, one of which is setting it up just below the border here as Mexican land is so cheap. The object of the company we're forming is to sell cat skins. We plan to operate a large Cat Ranch near Hermosillo, Mexico. To start with we want about 1,000,000 cats; each cat will average about 13 kittens a year, and skins run from 20 cents for the white ones to 40 cents for pure black. This will give us 12,000,000 skins per year at an average price of 30 cents or about $3,600,000 a year, or an average of $10,000 per day excluding Sundays and holidays.
A man can skin about 50 cats per day at a wage of $3 and it will take 666 men to operate the ranch; therefore, the net profit will be $8,200 per day.
We'll feed the cats on rats. To do this, we will start a Rat Ranch. Rats multiply four times as fast as cats. If we start with a million rats we will have four rats per cat each day. Then we will feed the rats on the carcasses of the cats from which the skins have been taken. You can see that this business will be self-supporting and automatic throughout. The cats will eat the rats and the rats will eat the cats and we will get this skins. Eventually we will cross the cats with snakes and they will skin themselves twice a year, thus saving labor costs and also giving us two skins per cat. Let me know immediately if interested. You may be too late now.
